Interesting video. It would have been good to understand which comments were from Ecuador and which were from Nicaragua and any differences between the two countries. We are currently living in Nicaragua (in 2021) and our monthly cost of living as a couple is around US$1100, with the vast majority of that going to home rental in a very comfortably sized home. You could certainly get by comfortably on as little as $600 a month.

I live in Nicaragua. Home is 2600 sq ft. Have a car. Air conditioning in the bedrooms. Hot water in the showers. Live very comfortable on less than $900 a month. I was born in the USA and retired to Nicaragua when I was 50 years old. Because my mom was born and raised in Nicaragua, I am also a citizen, holding dual citizenship with the USA. Love Nicaragua!
